What This Is About

What You Don't Protect,
You Don't Own

Fashion moves fast. Ideas circulate. Designs are referenced, reinterpreted, and at times, copied. But beneath that reality is a more fundamental issue.

Most founders do not fully understand what they have built — or how to protect it. This intensive is designed to change that.

This is not just an intellectual property session. It is a structured introduction to how value is created in a fashion business, what aspects of that value are legally protectable, and how to think about ownership from the outset.

The Problem

You May Be Building —
But Not Protected

Most fashion founders are building. Very few are building with protection. If any of the following sound familiar, your brand may already be exposed.

  • Your work has been copied and you are unsure what to do
  • You are building a serious brand but unclear what you actually own
  • You intend to "deal with IP later" once the brand grows
  • You receive conflicting advice and are unsure what applies in practice
  • Intellectual property feels complex — so you postpone it

Where Founders Get It Wrong

If I created it, I automatically own it

If I paid for it, it automatically belongs to me

Fashion cannot really be protected

All three are wrong. Intellectual property is a structured system — and when properly understood, it becomes a powerful tool for building long-term value.

Who This Is For

Built for Founders
Actively Building

  • Apparel brand founders
  • Textile and print designers
  • Accessories designers
  • Emerging fashion houses
  • Creative directors building scalable brands
This is not for hobbyists or early ideation. This is for founders actively building — or preparing to scale — a commercial fashion business.
